How do I see and use my wallet?
You get a personal wallet link on your phone. It shows your rewards balance and this month's exam. To redeem, show the screen at the front desk. From the same wallet you can gift an exam or donate rewards.
Can I gift an exam to a friend?
Yes. If you are not going to use this month's exam, open your wallet, tap Gift an exam and text the link to a friend who is not a client of FM 1488 yet. They claim it from the link and book their visit. They do not need a membership.
What is the Veterinary Care Foundation?
The Veterinary Care Foundation is a nonprofit that helps pay for veterinary care for pets whose families cannot afford it. FM 1488 gives 2% of membership fees to it for pets in our city, and members can donate any amount of their rewards from their wallet.
Do unused exams roll over?
No. Each month's exam is good until your next billing date, so book it before then. Your exam month starts the day you join and renews on the same date each month.
Can I pause my plan?
Yes. You can pause once every 12 months, for 1 to 6 months. Your pause starts at your next billing date, so you keep the month you have already paid for. While you are paused, you are not charged, and no new $55 in rewards or monthly exam is added. You keep using the rewards already on your account while you are paused. Billing restarts on its own on the billing date after your pause ends, and we email you a reminder about a week before. To pause, use the plan link in your sign-up email (your member page), or call the clinic at (281) 259-8806.
How do I cancel?
You can cancel anytime. Your rewards are used while your plan is active or paused. If you cancel, they stay on your account, ready when you rejoin, and you can donate them to the Veterinary Care Foundation anytime, even after you cancel. Payments are not refunded.
When I use my rewards at the front desk, does it come off my balance automatically?
Yes. The front desk redeems your rewards and your monthly exam in the clinic's system, and the amount is deducted from your wallet balance automatically.
How do I pay?
Your monthly payment is drafted from your bank account. There is no card. Sign-up is by secure instant bank login.
Is this pet insurance?
No. It is a membership. Your rewards and your exam are for your pet's care at FM 1488. There is nothing to file.
Can I join at the front desk and use it the same day?
Yes. Join at the front desk and your rewards are ready to use that day, along with your included exam. Your wallet is good for credit at the front desk on every visit.
